My 30 Day Blogging Challenge continues.
The tag [TIME SAVED] shows you where a Virtual Assistant (such as Virtual Hand) can save you time by doing these elements. This allows you to do what you love in your business as well as what you are good at.
How often do you find yourself motivated to write your blog content, only to look at your clock an hour later and your screen is still blank, the cursor still flashing in the same place? Do you struggle to come up with content that you feel confident to share with your audience? Perhaps you are full of ideas, but just struggle to translate them into written words?
If you find yourself nodding to one or maybe even all of these scenarios, then be assured that you are not alone. So many of us find content creation challenging, and what’s more, to be able to produce regular articles to capture interest can be even more daunting on those creative writing critters. We can spend time writing a fantastic post, ready to share with the world, only to find that keeping the consistency for the next week and coming up with the same quality stops us in our tracks.
The secret to making a success of your blog is all down to some careful planning.
Note down your ideas
Always have to hand a notepad. This works for all matters relating to business if you need to remember something, but is particularly useful when it comes to jotting down those creative ideas. You just never know when they might come to you. That light bulb moment in the middle of the night! Write it down, don’t lose that potential stroke of genius. You can then collate all your ideas into a blog editorial. Create a schedule for your blog writing and for each slot of allocated time, write down one of your ideas for content [TIME SAVED]. That way when the time comes to get writing, you already know what your subject is to be.
Is content your thing?
As mentioned earlier, writing just may not be your thing! No matter how hard you try to inject some personality into your subject and write to appeal to your audience, it just doesn’t come that easily. This is where drafting your ideas and then turning to your support team to ‘jazz’ up the content could be perfect for you [TIME SAVED]. There is also the scenario that you may in fact enjoy the writing side of things, but proofreading [TIME SAVED] just gets missed and you are onto the next task.
Try curation
If you are short on time, never let a blog post publishing date pass you by. You need to be making sure that you are consistent. Your regular readers will be looking forward to your post, and if you slip off the track, they could turn elsewhere for their dose of industry wisdom. The easiest way to produce informative and interesting content when you are short of time is to curate. This means that you incorporate content from other useful sources into your post, (and we don’t mean copy it). We mean providing links to those specific articles to create a post that acts as a resource. An informative article, utilising available information which you have collated [TIME SAVED] If you would like to find out more about what this involves, we will be diving a little deeper into this topic in the next blog post.
So there you have it, a few time saving ideas on how to create content for your blog, and if it’s not within your comfort zone, there are certainly ways to seek support to enable regular content, which results in those wonderful search engines feeding from your website.
