My 30 Day Blogging Challenge continues.

The tag [TIME SAVED] shows you where a Virtual Assistant (such as Virtual Hand) can save you time by doing these elements. This allows you to do what you love in your business as well as what you are good at.

Email marketing. Let’s face it you either love it or you hate it!

The positive perspective is that if you spend time thinking it through and have a strategy plan, the results can really drive you forward. The negative – well many people view it as a time consuming element of their everyday business running.

In this particular blog post, I want to focus on ‘freebies’.

The main purpose of a freebie is to help generate your email list. You want to create an item that you can share via your website, so that when people download this they subscribe to your mailing list. This can often be a relatively simple marketing tool to create; however, many business owners become daunted by the task and put it to the bottom of their to-do list.

Where to start

If you have no idea where to start in creating your freebie, the first thing I would suggest is to do a little research. [TIME SAVED]

By seeking out what others have to offer it can help to spark your own ideas and creations. See what appears to be popular within your own industry [TIME SAVED], is this something that you could develop on to take it to the next level and make it unique.

You will often find that these stand out on websites so that you can’t miss them and will often feature on every web page.

What to create

From your research, you should now have an idea as to what a freebie is and how other businesses use them. Now is the time to put your own spin to something that your audience will be attracted to.

Many entrepreneurs find that providing useful information in the form of an eBook creates a high rate of download [TIME SAVED]. It doesn’t have to be a novel, just something that is around eight to ten pages providing valuable information.

Checklists [TIME SAVED] are also extremely useful for anyone who maybe wants to use your product or service. Methods of how to get started are common and the more they speak to your particular client, the more downloads you will receive.

These days everyone loves a video tutorial. It makes an informative lesson easy to follow, with the ability to watch repeatedly at a time that suits the viewer. Creating and editing [TIME SAVED] a five minute tutorial is easier than you think. Just create your content, write yourself some prompt notes [TIME SAVED] and hit record.

Above are just a few ideas to get your freebie ideas flowing.

Stand out from the rest

It’s so important to be unique with your freebie. Try to offer something that isn’t going to be ten a penny. You want to excite your audience and give them value in your free offer and that’s where helpful information and knowledge can be extremely attractive.

Use your branding [TIME SAVED] and make sure your free offer clearly confirms to your audience your intention and what you have to offer.

Present your freebie professionally and ALWAYS make sure it is free from spelling and grammar errors with thorough proofreading. [TIME SAVED]

Technology to use

Depending on the product you want to produce for your free offer, depends on the type of technology you use.

Let’s look at creating an eBook as an example:-

  • Use a Word Processor (e.g. Microsoft Word) to create the content of the document. If you are not so great with typing then create an audio file to be transcribed [TIME SAVED].
  • Once the document has been produced, you want to save it as a PDF (e.g. Adobe) [TIME SAVED].
  • Now is the time to add your branding and really make your document stand out with formatting. By editing this in a program such as Adobe Acrobat you can get really creative [TIME SAVED].
  • Upload your freebie to your website [TIME SAVED], together with a simple yet effective graphic that will attract the attention of your audience [TIME SAVED].
  • Spread the word on social media by scheduling links to your free offer using a social media management tool such as Hootsuite [TIME SAVED].

Creating your freebie really doesn’t have to be as daunting as you believe it to be. By utilising the assistance of a VA your free offer will be out there doing the hard work for you, building your e-mail list in no time!
