Have you thought of outsourcing but dismissed it?

Does the following scenario sound familiar?

You’re a small business owner and you have a million and one things to do within your business. Each day starts off with the intention of being productive. You have a list of tasks that you need to perform to enable your business to function smoothly and with every will in the world, by the time you are due to finish your working day, you still have a number of tasks outstanding.

Are you taking on too much responsibility? Are you feeling the pressure? Do you need some help to make things run smoothly?

The benefits of outsourcing the tasks that are preventing you from growing your business and concentrating on what creates you an income are vast. However, some people may not have even realised that this is an option and help is at hand.

Have you thought of outsourcing your tasks to a Virtual Assistant?

There may be a particular area of business that you don’t feel comfortable doing. If bookkeeping isn’t your thing, then seek someone to help you tidy up your books and get them ready for your accountant. Maybe your website needs some housekeeping, but you’re not tech savvy? Would you benefit from some support on keeping your online presence up to date and your website relevant to your market? Should social media baffle you (and it does many people, you are not alone), then you can get assistance with managing your various platforms such as your business Facebook, Twitter or Google+ accounts.

Virtual Assistants come from all different career backgrounds and have a multitude of skill sets that could be just what you need to lighten the load.

“For everything we don’t like to do, there’s someone out there who’s really good, wants to do it and will enjoy it!” ~ Josh Kaufman

Although you might think “I can do those tasks myself and save money, why would I want to pay someone else to do them?” take a step back from the situation. What else could you be contributing to your business that ONLY YOU can, and that PROVIDES YOU the INCOME? What are the actual fee earning tasks apposed to those that are administrative and although necessary, are not billable?

Virtual Assistants are flexible with their support and can offer you services on an hourly or project basis if required.

Has it got you thinking? If so, now is the time to grab a notepad and pen. Write down what tasks you class as administration and how much time you spend on those tasks. You will be shocked to see how much time you spend on non-billable business running. Then write down all the things you could be doing that will be generating you an income. While you are working hard on the business functions, you’re not actually focusing on what the business actually DOES! The reason why you started your venture in the first place and where your passion and ambition lies.

“If you deprive yourself of outsourcing and your competitors do not, you’re putting yourself out of business.” ~ Lee Kuan Yew
